About ME

My name is Dan Rice and my journey as a photographer begin at a very young age. Growing up in Oregon I have always been inspired by the beauty around me and the driving force to preserve those memories. My Father handed me down his Nikon film camera for training at the age of 10. My mom was a constant source of encouragement to follow my passions in life. During high school I spent my free time in the darkroom. My after school job was at a 1 hour photo lab. In the year 2000 I graduated high school and looked for work in the photography field. Fate was on my side when a wedding & portrait studio in SW Portland opened the door into my career and life path. I started photographing professionally in 2001 and was instantly taken away by the love and joy of each wedding day and photography session. In the year 2007 I took a leap of faith and started my own business.

Throughout the years I have stayed steady with photographing weddings, session photography including families & portraits. I have also worked in fine art and commercial photography. Local to the north Oregon Coast my family and I enjoy the slower pace and incredible scenery. We are blessed with 3 amazing kiddos, who all are looking forward to being my assistant when they grow up:) When I’m not taking pictures or editing my time is spent with my family, gardening and surfing.

I personally handle all client relations and photography for my studio. With an amazing editor within my studio we make sure your images look incredible. Photographing with clients is such a treasured process. My biggest compliments from clients is how easy, professional and fun it is to work together. I love amazing lighting! I constantly seek perfect lighting combined with natural, story telling expression in all of my photographs. I make it my goal to capture real emotion, love & joy in all of my photographs. Memories to be cherished for generations.
