It was wonderful to be a part of Rebecca & Cody’s elopement in Arcadia Beach on the Oregon Coast. Rebecca reached out to me with a vision of an intimate wedding ceremony on the beach with a close knit group of friends. Morgan a close friend of Rebecca was going to be the officiant with their Drew as a whiteness. Rebecca dreamed of a peaceful loving day with the beauty of the Oregon Coast as the setting for their special day.
We began our day with getting ready photographs in Cape Falcon a their AirBnb. A community of homes tucked into an incredible forest cove besides the ocean. The perfect location from what seemed like a movie set. The atmosphere was calm and full of laughter with music throughout the house. Everyone prepared for the ceremony on the sand. Once Cody was ready he stepped outside to a forest lined street with anticipation of seeing Rebecca for the first time in her wedding dress. She walked up from behind Cody, tapping him on the shoulder as he turned around with tears in both of their eyes. The day had finally come and Cody and Rebecca were ready to make their way to the ceremony location.
After a short drive we arrived at Arcadia Beach. 1 mile south of Cannon Beach. An incredible ocean beach location with rocks, trees and a wide open empty beach. We adventured from Humbug Point towards the very south point where no one else was in site. A private spot beside the ocean.
With the sounds of crashing waves and sea birds, Cody and Rebecca spoke their vows and sealed their love and commitment with the exchange of rings and a kiss. Their guests cheered and congratulated them with hugs and best wishes for their life together.
Once the ceremony was completed we captured a variety of photographs that showcased the surrounding beauty and their love together. Walking up the beach we found forest cliffs, ocean vistas and sea stacks as backdrops for amazing photos. I even used my drone for some aerial photographs as they walked together on the sand.
When we reached the north side of Arcadia Beach next to Lion Rock the stage was set to enjoy cutting the cake together. Something about cake on the beach that tastes even sweeter.
As the sun began to set we captured a few more phots next to Lion Rock. Rebecca & Cody were ready for their dinner reservations to celebrate a perfect wedding on the Oregon Coast. I love having the honor of photographing memories on such momentous days in peoples lives. The love and excitement on each wedding day is contagious and makes me feel so lucky to be able to fulfill my lifelong passion of creating art with photography.
